The whole idea is simple: the things you currently find out by driving there, you should be able to find out from anywhere. The tank that ran dry overnight, the gate somebody left open, the pump that tripped at 4 a.m. — you learn about it when it happens, not when it’s already a problem.

Why LoRaWAN & Meshtastic
Range where cell signal gives up
Most “smart” farm gadgets assume a strong cell or Wi-Fi signal — which is a fine assumption in a suburb and a useless one at the back forty. We build on LoRaWAN and Meshtastic: long-range, low-power radio that covers miles of open country from a single gateway, slips through tree lines and rolling ground, and sips so little power that a sensor runs for years on a small solar panel.
Because the network is yours, there’s no monthly per-device cell bill, and your data doesn’t depend on somebody else’s tower staying up. When you’re out of range of everything, the mesh still gets the message home.

Once you can see it, the natural next question is “can it just handle itself?” Often, yes. We build control right alongside the sensors: start the pump when the tank drops, close the valve when it’s full, kick on the fans when the barn warms up, open the coop at sunrise.
Our firmware runs on rugged microcontrollers with proper state machines and FreeRTOS under the hood — the same disciplined engineering we’d put in an industrial controller, sized for the homestead. It keeps running on its own logic even if the network blips, and hands you the override whenever you want it.

Common questions
A few things folks usually ask
Do I need cell service or Wi-Fi out there?
No. That’s the whole point of LoRaWAN and Meshtastic. We can cover open country miles from any tower. If you do have internet at the house, we’ll use it to push alerts out to you anywhere — but the sensing and control don’t depend on it.
What does it run on for power?
Most of our field sensors run on a small solar panel and battery and go for years without a thought. For control points near power, we can hardwire. Either way it’s designed to keep working through cloudy stretches and cold snaps.
Can I start small and add on later?
Absolutely — and most folks do. We’ll size the gateway and network so you can start with the one thing that’s driving you crazy and add sensors and control as you go, without redoing the backbone.
What happens to my data?
It’s yours. The network is yours, the dashboard is yours, and we don’t lock you into a subscription to see your own tank levels. We’ll set it up so you own and control it for the long haul.
